thanks, this works great on my Sony VPCS11C5E (Vaio S). I had to set BMT=2 and ACPIS=1.
Just one little suggestion. I’m running ArchLinux and there is no /etc/init.d/, instead all init scripts are in /etc/rc.d/.
“/etc/rc.d/oBacklight start” fails because you start “/etc/init.d/oBacklight run &” in start(). I replaced it with “$0 run &”, which imho makes more sense and should work for everyone ($0 is the path to the script itself).

Hi Marcus
Question about restoring. Is a –diff backup always relating to the last –full backup

Example:
I do a –full backup monday and a –diff backup tuesdag and wednesday. My system crashes on thursday. So besides being unpopular and busy, what do i do? Do I do a –full restore and then restore tuesdays -diff and then wednesdays –diff, or a –full restore and then wednesdays -diff?

Just ran a full backup with the new script (1.0.4) on Release 7.0.0_GA_3077.UBUNTU10_64 UBUNTU10_64 FOSS edition.
All services came up as they should:)

Version 1.0.4 works on version 7.1.0 of Zimbra Collaboration Suite OSE.

I’m currently running it on 7.1.0.

There are a new version of this script on it’s way out with major bugfix for differential backups, so if you use current version do not use diff backup as it is broken.

The new version will arrive in a day or two after some testing.

Thanks for using this script.

I think that the default values in the script might be wrong for your setup, have you tried changing to the other one described under documentation for oBacklight?

The issue with brightness could be a result of the above settings, so test the other ones and see how that works for you.

btw. i think it’ll be better to restore previous brightness val from the file (after reboot)

Backup is very nice, but what is with restore ?
I can not found anything about restoring a backup.
